My Name is Brent Vaccaro. Im currently 28 years old and i live in a small town in New Jersey. Im also the Owner/Artisan Here at Lumberjack Studios and Lumberjack Comb Company.
I started my endeavor becoming a Woodworker when I was a young teenager, well, maybe younger. It all started when I was 5 Years Old when my family and I had moved. We had found a wonderful piece of property In Kingwood Township, New Jersey. So of course my family built a house there. We were one of the first houses on this so called "street", when really it was just a dirt road, with a house in the middle of a corn field. But, thats where it all started. There were numerous houses planned to go up and little did I or the builders know that i was going to be tagging along for the 6 years of construction on all the other houses that were being built. Well, lets just say I was on a job site everyday after school and I loved every minute of it. So, it stuck with me.
Then, I started High school, I started taking woodshop my freshman year. With in the first week of shop class I knew this is what I was meant to do. I started studying about species of wood more then my history homework, drafting and calculating designs more then my math homework, I was hooked! As months went on and my craft got better I started to realize something, that designing a piece of furniture isn't all about the design, its more about keeping the natural beauty and flaws and accepting these flaws as natural Art. Letting the trees spirit live on and energy be shown while injecting my art and design into each piece of wood and project.
So with all this experience, I was all ready decades ahead of many classmates. I had made the decision to drop out of school and pursue my career in construction and woodworking at age 17. I swayed back and forth between cabinet shops and construction company's and received my GED. I then decided to start my own business, it's been a long road! Everyday is a struggle, but, I get to wake up everyday and work my dream job, design, build, eat, sleep and work. Every piece of wood tells their own story and gives me a blue print as to what the end result will be. It wasn't until 3 years ago I started realizing that my wood products aren't just wood products, but works of art, Functional works of art. And I take pride in knowing that any Product Made at Lumberjack Studios is locally grown and harvested right here in New Jersey.
